This cross brings to mind those ancient, immense, stone crosses -- the Celtic High Crosses -- that stand today, as they've stood for centuries, out in the open air... The surfaces of those crosses, originally deeply carved with figures, Biblical scenes, knotwork and spirals, are now -- of course -- much weathered, in places worn smooth;  but they've lost none of their power to inspire.

This Celtic High Cross pendant is a nice, heavy casting with a waxed pewter finish, made in Greece, and hand-finished here in our studio.

The soft deerskin thong is deep chocolate brown, very supple and rather rustic, cut by hand in the American northwest.

An excellent cross for everyday wear...

Etched design, broad arms, large ring.  Solid bronze, cast by hand from an old Coptic original.

Solid bronze chain, 25 inches long, easily slips over the head without a clasp.

The cross of this necklace is cast by hand of solid bronze from a 15th century original.

The beads are rondelles of Jasper -- very unusual and difficult to find -- in beautifully variegated shades of gray and sepia. They are interspersed with Poppy Jasper, Black Horn, and glass.

This delightful Coptic cross is made in two parts, and hinged.  The four little birds are a traditional element of the old Ethiopian design;  the interlaced pattern is reminiscent of Celtic knotwork.  It's hand-cast from a 19th century original.

One strand of tortoise Czech pressed glass, and two strands of tiny beads each handformed of bronze. 

The muted colors and occasional sparkle of an early morning frost...

Hand-cast bronze cross...

Rondelles of Botswana Agate, striped in muted grays, purples, and blues...  Their facets catch the light, and sparkle -- not too much! -- it's a quiet sparkle, like rain or like frost on a cloudy day.  Pleasant.

This exquisite image of the Archangel Michael is derived from a 14th century Byzantine icon.  Saint Michael holds a disk marked with the monogram of Christ, and a staff symbolic of his mission. 

The medal is beautifully made of solid bronze;  the black cord is fine quality Greek leather.
