Sacred Heart - variation 2 - Old Brass and Turquoise

The ardent love Jesus feels — for each and every person — is understood to radiate from His heart. So, the Sacred Heart of Jesus is symbolized by a heart afire. Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus arose in about the 11th century, spread far and wide, and is still going strong. The focus of the devotion is the heart of Jesus, Himself; and the point is to deepen our dedication to returning His love.

The bronze cross of this chaplet arises from an open heart — a traditional Latin American motif. Alongside the cross is an ebullient milagro of the Sacred Heart. Both the cross and the milagro are solid bronze, hand-cast from vintage originals.

The Aves are heavy old solid brass. Among the Aves are turquoise heishi, rings of copper, beads of matte glass, and occasional beads of brass.

The speckled blue-green and black Pater bead is arranged between handmade caps of oxidized copper, along with decorative beads of bronze.
