Signal Flags - Czech Glass and Greek Ceramic

Signal Flags - Czech Glass and Greek Ceramic

"...Behold, the kingdom of God is among you."
— Luke 17:20

The fantastic evocative crucifix of this chaplet is cast from an extremely well-worn, ancient original, believed to be Spanish, from the 15-1800s. It’s very substantial, solid bronze.

The Pater bead is burnt horn, and the Aves are black Czech glass. Among the prayer beads are beads of high-fired Greek ceramic, in intense colors that remind us of maritime signal flags.

Why the chaplet has a extra bead at the crucifix we don't know —we felt it belonged there. You may discover its use or its meaning.

The connecting rings are heavy-gauge copper and bronze. The chaplet is strung on premium quality Soft Flex jewelers' cable, composed of 49 strands of steel encased in nylon, with a test strength of 26 pounds; each end is double-crimped for security.
