Snow Clouds - Natural Agate Irish Penal Chaplet

Snow Clouds - Natural Agate Irish Penal Chaplet

Tranquility. Snow clouds, tree bark, twigs and pinecones... This chaplet brings to mind the quiet colors we enjoy on a walk at evening in wintertime, alongside the woods, not long before snowfall.

The simple crucifix is lightly patterned, front and back. The initials “INRI” are an abbreviation of the title that Pontius Pilot himself ordered affixed to the cross: "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." For the full story on that, see John 19:19-22.

A group of five hand-carved disks of wood forms the Pater.

The stone Aves are speckled natural agate, in muted pale grays and browns.

The ring is solid brass.

The connecting rings are solid bronze. The chaplet is strung on premium quality SoftFlex jewelers’ cable, composed of 49 strands of steel encased in nylon; each end is double-crimped for security.

Chaplets of this configuration are known as Irish Penal Chaplets. They can easily be used to keep count of the prayers of a full five decade rosary, by looping the ring over one thumb and praying one decade, then moving the ring to each finger in turn, praying one decade at each position.
