Trailing Clouds of Glory - Natural Mother of Pearl - Irish Penal Chaplet

"Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home."

— William Wordsworth

These Ave beads seem to glow from within. They're natural mother of pearl — beige aswirl with luminous white, with flecks and streaks of rose. Among these are beads of matte glass in various shades of rose and olive. At each end of the chaplet is a beautifully shaped bead of burnt horn.

The pretty crucifix has a pattern of fleur de lis, symbolic of the Blessed Mother, of Christ's human nature, and of the Holy Trinity. On the reverse of the crucifix is a circular emblem with the words, "Ste. Christo." The crucifix is hand-cast from a European antique, in solid bronze

The finger ring of the chaplet has an attractive Tuareg motif. It's antiqued brass. Thanks to the ring, the chaplet can easily be used to keep count of the prayers of a full five decade rosary, by looping the ring over one thumb and praying one decade, then moving the ring to each finger in turn, praying one decade at each position.
