Lydia's Place - Czech Glass and Bone

Lydia's Place - Czech Glass and Bone

This rosary was inspired by Lydia, whose home was the main gathering place for the early Christian community at Philippi. (When Paul and Silas were released from prison, they headed straight for Lydia's house. See Acts 16:11-15, 40.) Lydia was a dealer in purple cloth — we've used purple beads here in her honor.

The gorgeous royal purple Ave beads of this rosary are Czech glass, faceted and firepolished.

The Paters are bone, carved with a floral motif. They're capped with deep purple pressed glass, and decorative beads of hand-cast bronze.

The beautifully shaped cross is cast from a 15th century original, in solid bronze.

Among these are beads of matte glass in various subtle shades of blue-gray and olive, small beads of ebony, and beads of solid brass.
