"You will find something more in woods
than in books.
Trees and stones will teach you
that which you can never learn from masters."

— Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Epistle 106

The crucifix of this rosary is highly dimensional, and its spiral pattern continues all the way around. It is hand-cast from an antique original in solid bronze.

The large, freeform Pater beads are each unique, made of reclaimed timbers or wood fallen to the forest floor. One of the Paters is formed of two of these wild beads. Alongside each Pater are cylindrical wooden beads and beads of solid brass.

The Aves are naturally striped unfinished European fir. Separating the Aves are small handmade wood beads, slightly varied in size, in many shades of brown.

The rosary is made all-in-one-loop, rather than in the familiar "Y" form. We don't see lots of all-one-loop rosaries lately, but they were pretty much the norm until just a couple centuries ago.

The connecting rings are all solid bronze. The rosary is strung on premium quality Soft Flex jewelers’ cable, composed of 49 strands of steel encased in nylon, with a test strength of 26 pounds; each end is double-crimped for security.

These unfinished wooden beads can be cared for the same way as you’d care for an unfinished wooden salad bowl or cutting board: If they seem dry, use a touch of oil, or an oil/beeswax combo.
