Sacred Heart - Bethlehem Olivewood - 100 Bead

Sacred Heart - Bethlehem Olivewood - 100 Bead

The ardent love Jesus feels for each and every person is understood to radiate from His heart — so the Sacred Heart of Jesus is symbolized by a heart afire. Devotion to the Sacred Heart arose in about the 11th century, spread far and wide, and is still going strong. The focus of the devotion is the heart of Jesus, Himself; and the point is to deepen our dedication to returning His love.

Both the simple Coptic cross and the ebulliently expressive milagro of this prayer rope are solid bronze. The medal hangs in front of the cross, well centered, when the prayer rope is suspended.

The 100 oval prayer beads are carved in Israel, of wood pruned from the ancient olive trees in Bethlehem. The variety and depth of their color is a mark of their quality. No trees were harmed in the harvesting of this wood — pruning the trees is essential to their health and continued fruitfulness.

The prayer rope is quite long — nearly 27" from the top of the loop to the bottom of the cross. It has no clasp, but can be worn as a necklace when it's looped doubled.
